The experience of owning a puppy has its joys and headaches. We all know how darn cute puppies are, we all laugh at how pudgy and clumsy they can be, and we definitely know how sharp those little teeth are.

Owning a puppy comes with a lot of responsibility. Not only are you responsible for feeding them, cleaning up after them, and making sure they are healthy; but more importantly you are responsible for making sure they grow up to be well mannered and well socialized dogs.

I would not take obedience commands very seriously at this stage in their lives. Although you can start having fun with sit and down, these things can be taught later. Puppies between the ages of 7 and 16 weeks are at a very important stage in their lives where they are like sponges; they soak up everything. Now is the crucial time to socialize and expose them to new sights, smells, noises, people, dogs and other puppies. You can not get this time period back, so spend some time doing things correct the first time.

Unleashed Unlimited Dog Training has recently added Puppy Consultations to our list of services. During the in-home puppy classes, we address the following topics:

Have you ever been hugging or loving on your dog and noticed that he or she plain out just stinks? Well, we sure have. Believe it or not, most of the time it is the dog’s collar that stinks the most. Anyone with an active dog knows that over time your dog’s fabric collar can start get dirty, fade, and really stink. Your dog’s collar can also harbor harmful bacteria, adding to the smell and cruddy appearance.

Our dogs swim in our pool and in many of Austin’s wonderful lakes and rivers almost everyday. They also get muddy, play rough with each other, run through open fields, roll themselves in their favorite smells, as well as a laundry list of other things that cause their collars to quickly attract and retain moisture, dirt, bacteria, and of course odor. We have always been searching for a better dog collar.

A client of Unleashed Unlimited recently told us about a line of dog collars that we want to share with everyone. Dublin Dog Collars are stylish, fun and they DON’T STINK!

Dublin Dog Collars are made of a rubber material that doesn’t fade, retain odor or bacteria, and always look brand new. Not only are they functional, but they are stylish too. They have a growing selection of stripes, solids, clovers, daisies, and other designs that are sure to meet your needs.

Dublin Dog not only offers collars but also dog tags and human apparel on their website and through local Austin retailers, as well as throughout the country.

All of our dogs wear these collars and Dublin Dog gets Unleashed Unlimited’s absolute recommendation. We are in no way affiliated with this company, but will always share great dog products with the dog world!
