A whole year has come and gone, hopefully it’s been a year filled with good times with your dog!  It’s been a very exciting year here at Unleashed Unlimited – we’ve added some new programs, successfully launched the Puppy Manual, hosted another great agility seminar, filled our online store with some more great items, and most importantly – we worked with a lot of fantastic dogs and their owners.

Just like we did last year, we wanted to share the most popular posts from our training blog for 2010.  Enjoy the look back, and we are all looking forward to an even better 2011!

World’s Most Expensive Dog Collar

Dec 2, 2010   //   by Paul   //   2 Comments

Are you still looking for a Christmas present for your dog?  If not a full blown present this year, you’re at least going to get your dog a stocking-stuffer, right?  Well in comes the world’s most expensive dog collar.

The Amour Amour Collar boasts over 1,600 hand-set diamonds that add up to to a total of 52-carats; and that’s not to mention the platinum and white gold components, along with the exotic crocodile leather band.  With something this elaborate and elegant you are assuming a ridiculous price tag too, right?  I don’t think the $3,200,000 price tag will disappoint!!

Alright, back to the real world, a $3.2 million dog collar is out of reach for most of us, but not to worry.  I Love Dogs Diamonds has something that is should fit even the tightest of budgets; their entry level dog collar comes in at only $150,000.

Dogs Using Twitter?

Feb 14, 2010   //   by Paul   //   No Comments

The Mattel toy company is gearing up to release a new product that will attempt to cash in on the social media craze, the new product is called Puppy Tweets.

Here’s how Puppy Tweets will work – a tag attaches to your dog’s collar and randomly generates one of several hundred pre-written puppy tweets when it detects barking or movement from your dog.  The tweet is then automatically sent to a USB device in your computer and is then posted as an update to your dog’s Twitter page.

Because the Puppy Tweets are pre-written, the status updates that are sent out by your dog will most likely not accurately reflect what your dog is currently doing, but nevertheless it may be entertaining.  According to Mattel, Puppy Tweets is set to hit toy stores and other retailers in the fall of this year and will sell for $29.99.  Oh, and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter!

Mans’ Best Friend

Jan 21, 2010   //   by Paul   //   No Comments

It has always been said that Dog is Mans’ Best Friend, well I think that bond may have just gotten a bit stronger!

Bark4Beer makes a dog collar that has a retractable bottle opener built right into the collar!  This means no more time spent searching for that pesky bottle opener, and more time spent enjoying time with our dogs and friends.

While I don’t see this product comparing to other great and useful dog products like the Manners Minder or Dublin Dog Collars, at only $15 it is an easy impulse buy!

Follow @UnleashUnlim on Twitter

For those who do not know, Twitter is without a doubt the best way to share and discover what is happening right now!  Following someone on Twitter simply means that you can receive updates of what your friends and family are currently doing; similar to status updates on Facebook, or extremely short blog entries.

Above you can see recent entries of typical thoughts, activities, pictures (there may be some of your dog on there) and other news from us.  Unleashed Unlimited has been on Twitter for some time now, but we have recently started to really use the service as a way of keeping in touch with our clients and friends.  Following us on Twitter is also a great way to see daily pictures (click here to see a few of our most recent ones) and announce any last minute news, such as rain cancellations.  So if you are currently on Twitter, consider following @UnleashUnlim

Earlier this week, our first dog training blog app was released for the iPhone and is available for free download in the iTunes store. For those of you who have iPhones, you know how useful some of the apps are, and hopefully ours in no exception.

This is by far the best way to easily access our recent blog posts and keep our contact information handy.  We are still working out some slight kinks, but we hope you enjoy it!
