Intro to Agility

Our obstacle and confidence course is an entry level class designed to expose you and your dog to all of the agility equipment and lay the foundation for safely and confidently maneuvering over the course. If you ever wanted to get into agility or find a fun way to build confidence in your fearful or shy dog, this class is a great first step!

14th Annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk

Strap on your walking shoes and grab your leashes, the Mighty Texas Dog Walk is coming back to Austin. In it’s 14th year, the Mighty Texas Dog Walk is a gathering of dogs and their owners for a 3 miles stroll through downtown Austin in attempt to bring the Guinness World’s Record for “Largest Dog Walk” back to Texas!

Our trick training class is a hands on class where you are going to be working with your dog and teaching them some fun tricks. Because this is a fun and laid back class, all ages and levels of obedience are welcome to participate – there are no prerequisites for Tricks 2!
2011 Donkey Dash and Doggie Dash

This will be a dog-friendly USATF Certified (TX09096ETM)5k course that starts and finishes at Doc’s Backyard. This fast, flat user-friendly course will take you on a tour through beautiful Sunset Valley.

Austin Dogtoberfest 2011 is an annual event at The Domain which includes a silent auction, Canine Costume Contest, pet related demonstrations and fun for all! Last year approximately 2,500 people and their canine companions attended this one day event and many more are expected for the 2011 event!!
2011 AIDS Walk Austin

If you are looking to raise money for a great cause, get some exercise, and do something new with your dog – we’ve got a great event for you! This year Unleashed Unlimited is putting together a team and walking in the 2011 Austin AIDS Walk. The walk is a dog-friendly (dogs must be social and remain on-leash) 5k walk that takes place right in Austin’s beautiful downtown area! If you are interested, you can join our team and walk with us! The money you help raise goes to AIDS Services of Austin and the fundraising teams of Austin’s other outstanding AIDS service and education providers, so be sure to give anything you can; every penny helps!

The Midtown Mutt-minster
The Midtown Mutt-minster, a ‘best in show’ competition, will highlight Austin’s true mixed breeds! Categories include “I’m So Ugly I’m Cute”, “Most Unidentifiable Breed”, and “Funkiest Features”. Even if your pup isn’t entered into the competition, come out to watch the show and peruse the booths set up by some of your favorite local dog-friendly businesses!

Bullies Against Cancer

The Capital of Texas Triathlon Doggie Du Dash gives man (or woman) and best friend the chance to compete in tandem. The event consists of a 300 meter open water swim followed by a 1 mile run for the finish.

Snake Avoidance Training

Snake avoidance teaches your dogs to avoid and not approach dangerous snakes that are common to the Austin area. Register and come on out to teach your dogs to avoid rattlesnakes, water moccasins, and copperheads. Live snakes on hand to aid with the training.
Just Fur Fun Pet 5k
May 14, 2011 9:00 a.m. Galloway Hammond Recreation Center, Burnet, Texas
5k walk/run for pets and their owners. Come dressed up for a fun 3.2 mile trail run with your pet. Water and pet treats will be served at the finish line. After the race we will be judging a look-a-like contest to win a free membership to our recreation center, plus other door prizes.

13th Annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk

The Mighty Texas Dog Walk is a dog friendly three mile stroll just down the road from the Texas State Capitol. The event also attempts to break the Guinness World’s Record for “Largest Dog Walk” back to Texas! Current record: 17,427 dogs
Woof Walk and Wrun 5k/1mile

This event is a 5K Run and Mile Walk for runner, with or without their favorite training companions, their dogs! Proceeds benefit Jane’s Fund, which is designed to help pets who are brought to the shelter with treatable injuries, which are often not capable of treating at a shelter.
