Summer is here in Austin and it’s getting hot! Without using the good old ‘dog days of summer’ line, here is some info that can help you and your dog make it through the summer.
Your dog’s health and well-being should be your primary focus during the summer. So let’s start off with a no-brainer easy one – don’t leave your dog in the car! Also be sure to check out these tips for keeping your dog cool in the summer and considering factors that can contribute to gastric torsion.
When going for walks with your dog this summer, be sure to walk them in the morning or evening when the temps are a bit cooler. Also, be aware of the temperatures on the pavement and sidewalks as their paws could get burned.
When all else fails, it may be a good idea to spend more time with your dog inside this summer.
One last thought: If you are needing to board your dog during your summer vacation, why not consider a board and train with us?!
