If you have been following our dog training blog for a while or if you are a local Austin dog training client, you must know how valuable the place command can be. Although the traditional placeboard is a fantastic tool to incorporate into your dog’s daily life, they can also get boring. So, in order to help your dog generalize the skill and encourage you to leave the home with your dog, we are having a photo contest built all around place, generalization, and training in new locations.
As a way of making it fun we are encouraging you to place your dog on anything (other than a placeboard) and take a photo and then upload it to the Unleashed Unlimited Facebook page. To generate some ideas, the photos above may help but also take a look at the video below of one of our dogs placing on anything and everything.
Here are are the rules, guidelines, and other info you need to know:
- All photos must have your dog with all 4 paws on something different from the ground (cannot be a placeboard). Get creative!!
- All photos must be taken outdoors.
- You can enter as many times as you would like.
- All photos must be posted to our Facebook page before June 1, 2014.
- We will collect all of your entries and create a Facebook album on June 2, 2104. The photo in this album that collects the most likes by 6pm central time on June 10th will win their choice of a Trick Training DVD, Unleashed Unlimited t-shirt, or Unleashed Unlimited hat.
- You do not have to be an Unleashed Unlimited training client to enter the contest, it is open to everyone in the Continental US.
