Congratulations on your new puppy! You are about to embark on a wonderful journey of crate training, cleaning up urine and poop and for many, a few sleepless nights. I bet you are thrilled just thinking about it. Do yourself a favor and stock up on the paper towels!
While all of that is true, owning a puppy with a vision of the future and the lifestyle you want to lead with your dog is one of the most rewarding journeys you can undertake. It really is all that its cracked up to be!
You have a blank slate with so many opportunities for your puppy to turn into the dog you have always wanted. It all starts by getting off on the right foot and continuing on that path until your puppy has reached adulthood. They really are mans best friend and it is much more rewarding for both the dog and the dog owner if you are crystal clear in your expectations and have laid the proper ground work.
In addition to our Puppy Manual, we are offering a new Puppy Class for folks in the Cedar Park, Leander, and Austin areas. In our puppy program we cover the basics and then some, it’s a comprehensive program AND they WILL get to socialize. That is in a lot of cases the hardest thing for puppy owners to accomplish, socialization with puppies and well rounded adult dogs.
You and your puppy will learn all about obedience and why its important because there really is more to it than just teaching your dog how to sit and lay down. Socialization is also on the agenda, as is how to read your dogs body language; those skills go a long way when it comes to preventing behavior problems. If you don’t know what you are looking at it is easy to create and nurture a fearful or anxious state of mind. We have a whole curriculum set up for you so that you and your family will have some more awesome skills to add to your repertoire.
