The last month of the year calls for a shout to one of our clients. Each month, we will be choosing a client who has has the most significant improvement in their dogs training and their own.
We are, at times, the X factor when it comes to dog training. ‘When it comes to the dogs, some cases are more difficult than others and progress more slowly in spite of the best efforts of the dog owner. I think it is important to also recognize the latter also because it takes a tremendous amount of work to overcome certain issues that the dog may be having. It takes consistency, patience and dedication and sometimes these are not so easy to come and some people give up. There is not a quick fix for everything.
I love watching group class. It makes me proud to see our clients that once owned unruly, leash reactive dogs progress to the next level. As the handlers skills improve, which only come by putting the work in, so do the dogs, sometimes to the level that it gives me the chills.
The December Client of the Month goes out to Colleen Babcock and her dog Boo!! I remember when she first came in for her evaluation. It was a pretty noisy day as Boo was pretty darn reactive and frustrated on leash with other dogs present. Colleen was nervous handling her dog and Boo knew it. Fast forward to the present and if you see Boo in class, she rarely makes a peep and calmly follows her owners commands and even comes to doggie day care. We have noticed some great changes in her temperament even in daycare as a result of Colleen’s dedication and willingness to work with her dog. As an outsider, there seems to be a different relationship between the two. We are incredibly proud of Colleen and her progress with Boo. Boo was not an easy challenge for Colleen but she did it!!
